We've received feedback that the Contabo network test file (contabo.com/100MB.bin) is hosted via CDN edge, making it less useful for diagnosing routing to their actual compute nodes. I want to address this directly.

— The CDN was implemented to reduce origin load during peak marketing periods
— I recognize this creates measurement variance for latency-focused users
— They're evaluating direct-node test endpoints for a future update

If you'd like node-specific tests in the interim, I can try to help figure out direct URLs based on your region and preferred PoP.

I'm measuring cloudflare not your network?? Chur for the response but this is basic stuff? Why would I buy transit from you to test cloudflare's backbone?

Jane I appreciate the transparency. But the problem is deeper. Cdn tests are everywhere now. Everyone does it. But that doesn't make it right. I tested six providers last week. Same cdn. Results within 2%. Completely useless for comparing actual routes. The variance is hidden not reduced...

Provider says "industry standard" like that's a defense. Industry standard is also overselling KVM and calling 99% uptime "enterprise." .

Let us not forget that one of our members has created a comparison tool showing 300% variance between cdn-hosted and direct-node tests in certain regions. I apologize for mentioning this if it has already been considered, but the data speaks rather clearly.
