Your 'loyalty reward' requires 5 more referrals

- three years continuous service with RackNerd
- "loyalty reward" email received today
- reward unlocks at tier three
- current status: tier two
- tier three requires five successful referrals
- I have made zero referrals
- terms state "loyalty program subject to change"

This is not a loyalty reward. This is a recruitment incentive. The naming is misleading. I am requesting clarification from support. Has anyone else encountered this structure with other providers.

The "loyalty" is only for getting new customer not for old customer very much

RackNerd did this in 2024 too. They called it "founding member status" then. Five referrals for a sticker and priority ticket. The sticker never arrived. I opened three tickets. All closed as "resolved". The program became "early adopter rewards" in 2025. Same structure. Then "legacy supporter" briefly. Now "loyalty reward". It's the same pyramid. Just new paint...

This is EXACTLY how data harvesting operations expand their footprint. Five referrals = five new accounts = five new payment methods = five new sets of data to resell when the "rebrand" happens. WARNINGS: I think RackNerd's privacy policy has something about business transfers and successor entities, worth reading before you sign up. Set up fail2ban on anything you host with them. Firewall EVERYTHING. They will sell your "loyalty" to the highest bidder when the pyramid collapses!
