Windows Server 2022 on 1GB RAM — my suffering documented

I needed a windows box for some legacy software that refuses to run on wine. Found a 1GB special at OVHcloud — https://www.ovhcloud.com/en/vps/ — for €2/month. Figured how bad could it be.

Bad. Very bad.

Screenshots show task manager at boot: 847MB used. svchost everywhere. Windows update disabled itself after eating 400MB and failing. I have documented the full 6 hour install process, the 45 minute login times, the moment I realized pagefile on virtio disk was a war crime.

Which providers take XMR for windows licenses? Asking for a friend who wants to pay anonymously for this suffering

Is server good no is server terrible terrible

The OVHcloud I have 2GB and is slow slow, cannot imagine 1GB with the Windows. How much cost the license separate? I think is better the linux with kvm passthrough for windows program ¿why not¡

The AWS has cheap windows but is not cheap cheap, is expensive expensive for home use
