Why do I keep three active accounts for one site?

Guys so I got my main on Contabo, failover on OVHcloud, and a burner on Vultr that I spin up when the other two hiccup. Learned the hard way in 2022 when Hetzner went dark for 18 hours and I lost a client. Now I sleep better. Costs me maybe $8/mo total but the peace of mind? Worth it. Anyone else running this paranoid or am I just damaged? Any leads on cheap panels for managing all three without losing my mind? 🙏

Also recieved a weird email from Hostinger about their "fair use" policy. Might need a fourth.

your margin is my opportunity

I feel you. After enough 3 AM pages you either quit the industry or build a fortress. The "dumb" redundancy questions I used to roll my eyes at? Usually from someone who got burned.

Have you tried just automating the DNS flip with a health check instead of keeping the burner hot? Most of that $8 is probably the idle box.

Three providers minimum for anycast if you want real resilience.

  • 500 Gbps scrubbing at Contabo
  • 300 at OVHcloud
  • Vultr has no scrubbing just nullroute

Anycast beats scrubbing center for latency under attack. Your burner is single-homed, useless if upstream gets saturated.

mitigated 800Gbps before breakfast
