Scale of 1-10, how confident are you that you can actually restore from backup?
I'll start: solid 4. I have backups. I have NEVER tested them. This is the way.

(7 (but only because I automated the backups (with a playbook I wrote in 2019 (that I haven't looked at since)))) (the thought of testing makes me anxious (which is ironic (given my profession))))

¡¿7 is very dangerous number, my friend?! The confidence without testing is very false security. I was 9 once. Then I needed restore and the backup was very corrupted. Jajaja. Now I am 3 and sleeping better.
Restore testing? Quarterly on paper. Actually executed? Zero in 18 months. I rate myself 6. The gap between measurement and practice is where disasters breed.

Vultr's object storage is $5/TB/month which is... actually competitive for the tier. The block storage is where they get you if you're not watching. I have a spreadsheet.

This. I have 14 tabs just for egress math across providers. Wasabi wins on pure storage, loses on egress. Backblaze B2 is my middle ground. Vultr only wins if I'm already in their network and the $3/mo instance — https://www.vultr.com/pricing/ — is doing the lifting.
