Unlimited bandwidth suspended at 8.3 TB
Contabo "Unmetered 1Gbps" plan — https://contabo.com/en/vps/. Ran rsync mirror for open source project. 8.3 TB in 18 days.
Account suspended. Email says "excessive usage violating fair use." No refund, no prorate.
For that money you get:
- 1Gbps port (burst only, apparently)
- "Unlimited" with invisible 8TB cap
- No warning, just termination
- Data locked for 72 hours until I paid "overage fee"
Their ToS says "unlimited subject to acceptable use policy" but the AUP has no numbers. Has anyone successfully challenged this? What does "unlimited" even mean legally if they define it post-hoc?
