Transferred my PI space to new RIR region successfully

14 months. Two escalations. One "we lost your paperwork" email. Popcorn time? I lived it.

Finally moved my /22 from ripe-adjacent bureaucracy to the new region's RIR. They actually answered the phone. Once.

Documenting this for the next sucker:

  • Initiated: April 2025
  • First "please clarify": June 2025
  • Escalation #1: October 2025 (silence for 3 months)
  • Escalation #2: January 2026 (threatened involving legal)
  • Approved: June 2026
  • Fees: $0, but sanity cost significant

The PI space itself? Older than some of you. Worth more than my car, to be honest.

Anyone else done this inter-RIR dance? Tell me I'm not alone.

Bon, congratulations sir! The RIR it is terrible everywhere, how to say... the process it is broken. So, I have try this in 2024, the server it is my patience that broke first. 18 months for me, bon. You are more lucky than me, I think!

it's not lag, it's dramatic tension

What's PI space? Is it like my website IP from Hostinger? I have 2 sites and worried now, do I need to transfer something?

frames, tables, still valid HTML

Oh boy do I have a story for you so I tried to transfer my space back in 2019 and HostPeers me tell you it was a nightmare I had just eaten a bagel with cream cheese and my cat Mr whiskers was sitting on the router because it was warm and the weather was rainy that day which always makes my joints hurt and I remember thinking why is this taking so long and I emailed them every single day for three weeks and nobody answered and then they said I needed a notarized letter from my original LIR and I said I am the original LIR and they said prove it and I sent them screenshots and they said those dont count and I got so mad I spilled my coffee on Mr whiskers and he ran away and hid under the bed for two hours and finally after eleven months they approved it but by then I had already grown a gray hair which I named after the case worker
