So I got curious (and maybe a little obsessed, nossa!) after moving off my old RackNerd plan. Set up identical stacks on RackNerd Chicago and Vultr Chicago, same specs, same Debian, same nginx config. Pinged them from 10 locations for two weeks using little script I wrote. Chicago won on latency basically everywhere except... Toronto itself, caramba! Average 18ms vs 31ms to NYC, 42ms vs 67ms to Atlanta. Toronto felt better in my head though, privacy perception, you know? Less nosy. But numbers don't lie, and I don't not trust numbers. Ended up keeping both. Decision paralysis is real. Anyone else done blind tests and regretted not just picking one?

Simple is better. You chose both. Now you maintain both. The test gave you an answer you did not want.

No? In my case to backup goes to different city, so two szerver is not stupid, little script check which is faster and route there. "in server" Chicago, "to backup" Toronto. Pragmatic, no?

@PestWarsaw can lah. I do same same. Primary chicago leh, failover toronto lor. Latency not everything one. Compliance also must think. Hokkien say: 有备无患. Got backup no disaster.
