The ticket that took 47 messages

I feel compelled to document this escalation chain (partly for catharsis. Partly as warning). My client's KnownHost VPS experienced a simple issue: the control panel showed "suspended" despite active payment. The resolution, I eventually discovered independently, was a single checkbox in the client area labeled "I acknowledge the updated Terms of Service."

Forty-seven messages. I shall summarize. The semicolons are my own.

Message 1-3: Automated responses. No human read the ticket. Message 4-12: Tier-1 requested root password (irrelevant), server hostname (visible in panel), and screenshot of error (provided thrice). Message 13-22: Escalated to "billing verification". They confirmed payment received. Message 23-34: Escalated to "technical team". Three different agents asked identical questions. Message 35-46: Senior support involved. Requested server rebuild (unnecessary). Message 47: I found the checkbox myself. Resolved in thirty seconds.

The support interface, they later admitted, did not display the ToS acknowledgment flag to their staff. It was client-visible only.

Has anyone else experienced this specific failure mode? I am considering migrating to RackNerd or GreenCloudVPS. Their reputation for transparency is marginally better (though that bar is subterranean).

Polite but they just keep asking the same thing.

Is there a trick to getting escalated faster or do you just have to be really persistent? Thanks everyone!

1) escalation strategies that function:
A) mention "chargeback" (effective but nuclear)
B) request "senior technician" by name if known
C) open duplicate ticket (risk: banned)
2) my personal record:
A) 89 messages with CloudCone
I) DNS propagation "issue"
Ii) actual cause: their nameserver had wrong A record
Iii) they blamed my registrar
Iv) my registrar was me
B) resolution: I changed nameservers and never told them
3) emotional damage from this thread:
A) 1) frustration
B) 2) recognition
C) 3) resignation
4) checkbox blindness is real
A) see also: "enable 2FA" prompts
B) see also: "I am not a robot" failures

I have server with Leaseweb, xd, this is same story, support could not see from interface why account was flagged, xd

Deci I send 23 messages, they say "this is resolved" but this is not resolved, xd, I find checkbox myself too, this is pattern with RackNerd, xd — https://www.racknerd.com

@dadlime you should write guide "checkboxes support cannot see", xd, I would read, this is useful, xd

Why they not give support same view as client, xd, this is bad design, xd

POLISH SERVERS. LOUD FANS. GOOD PRICE.
