Hey folks, gonna share my pain running mail on a $5 CloudCone VPS

Super stoked at first — Mailcow docker-compose up, shiny web UI, felt like a hero

Week 1: IP already on 3 blacklists (shared range, previous tenant was spammer)
Week 2: warming up with Gmail, 50% inbox rate
Week 3: Microsoft hates me, goes straight to junk
Week 4: some rando reported my newsletter signup confirmation as spam

Deliverability is a full-time job folks. DKIM, SPF, DMARC, PTR, all correct. Still fighting reputation that isnt yours to control.

Migrated to forwardemail last night. Inbox rate: 99%. My sanity: restored.

Possible but masochistic. Dont do it unless you hate yourself.

The IP reputation thing—I tried this too—back in 2022—same blacklists—different provider though—Leaseweb that time—warmed for six weeks—thought I had it—then Microsoft changed something—
