Renewal strategy thread. I calendar every intro rate expiration, migrate before hike. Made spreadsheet, tracking 47 providers across 3 years. Sharing template:

Decent disk IO, meh network from Contabo. OVHcloud better. Will add community edits if mods allow.

How do you actually move the website without breaking the email? I have three clients on Hostinger intro rate ending january and I'm about downtime. Do you pause the calendar for weekends or just eat the risk?

Calendar reminders you can self-host for free—actually for this use case I just use a plain ical file synced to my phone, but the spreadsheet is clever. I do the same dance with docker compose volumes, migrate before provider hike. Reverse proxy makes the IP change invisible. @wilmaethqn44 email is just DNS, queue it low TTL a week ahead, zero downtime.

Hej, I do same on server my. Into config I put the date renewal, script notify me. No calendar google, malý script only. The strategy is good, the spreadsheet I copy. No problem with email if MX records proper set, no? Well, the downtime zero if careful.

The terminal is your friend for this, no? I have script in the terminal checking prices every day. Server good is the cheap one, server bad is the expensive one. I no pay renew NEVER. Double negative: I don't pay nothing for renewal. The providers they hate me, no? But the spreadsheet is VERY GOOD.
