RackNerd $12/yr deal - worried they'll fold?

So RackNerd has this deal right now, $12/YR for 2GB RAM VPS. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I SNAPPED IT UP instantly but now I'm worried. What if they fold in 3 months? I'm out $12 but also all my data. How do you evaluate provider stability before going annual? I usually do monthly but this price...

Anyone have a checklist? Due diligence tips? I searched but threads are old.

Hello @svendeal, thank you for asking this. I also want to know. For me, I check if they have live chat or not. If no live chat, I worry. Also I search "RackNerd down" or "RackNerd scam" on google slow-slow. But maybe there is better way? Can you share what you find? Thank you in advance. Wkwkwk

Caramba! $12 per year? Nossa, this is very cheap. I have see this before, kkkk. My friend he buy annual from unknown host, three month later, poof, gone. The website, the email, everything. Double negation: I am not never doing this again. But maybe you are lucky? Who knows. I say use paypal if you can, then maybe protection. Warm regards from brazil.

IMO, here's a balanced approach. YMMV.

Check how long they've been around (WHOIS creation date, not "established" claims). Search for actual user reviews outside their site. Test their support responsiveness before buying—send a pre-sales question, see reply time and quality. Take it with a grain of salt if they push annual hard.

For $12/year, assume the risk and plan accordingly: offsite backups, DNS you control, don't host critical stuff. The price itself is a red flag for longevity.
