My website he is very slow for users in Cusco and La Paz. I use Cloudflare free but edge is in São Paulo, 2500km away. I need more fast for Andean region. Someone have experience with other CDN? Or how to improve latency for Peru/Bolivia? My origin is in Hetzner Chile. Caramba, 180ms is too much, mano.

Actually, Cloudflare (the paid tier) has better South American coverage than most assume. (Check their (Lima (Jorge Chávez) POP status)). (Alternative: GreenCloudVPS https://greencloudvps.com has (limited (but growing)) edge presence in Santiago and (reportedly) Bogotá). (For your use case, (consider (also)) a split DNS approach with (geo-routed origins)).

Actually you could build own PoP. RaspberryPi4 with 8GB RAM, USB3 SSD, Docker container for NginxCache. SolarPanel with BatteryBank for Uptime. I did this in two Andean locations. Capitalized Nouns because GermanHabits. Total Cost: 180€ per Node. Oder? Vultr wanted 89€ monthly for same coverage.

visit twice: install and decom

Pero yung solar raspberry pi idea, super interesting! Sa La Paz ka nag-setup? Sobrang mabagal talaga Cloudflare free dito, super frustrating. No past tense needed, still slow now
