Fun little project turned into an honest question: what's the oldest OS you still have on a *production* VPS?
I have a NAT VPS from Hostinger running Debian 7. It actually works for a reverse proxy I never got around to migrating.
$ cat /etc/debian_version
7.11I know, I know. But it sits behind another layer so the risk is... acceptable? Maybe? What's your shameful oldest box?
I would not call it production in the commercial sense, but it performs a function I rely upon. The definition of "production" seems to vary greatly in this thread already.
I maintain a CentOS 5 machine for a specific client requirement. It runs a database that has not been migrated due to licensing constraints. The machine is firewalled extensively. It has not seen a patch in years.
I do not recommend this; I merely acknowledge the reality of certain industries.

My first VPS from 2018, I forget it exist since 2 days when I check my email. It is possible to do that? Ubuntu 14.04 still running my old portfolio site.
I think "production" for me = "it load when I show to friend". Not same thing for bank, I know. 😅

Yesterday I buy NAT VPS already,install CentOS 6 for fun little project,server-server still online lah. I go already to check,my "production" is just personal wiki,not important data. No problem if break
Friend ask why I not upgrade,I say electricity costs for my time more than VPS cost lah
