The question is how many is too many. I got 14 on one KnownHost account, all small wordpress, runs fine. But I see guys with 50+ and wonder if dat why my neigbor sites load slow sometimes.

You figure it out he says. No apostrophes no edits ever.

Whats your number

Just use containers. Skill issue.

(But seriously, 14 on cPanel shared? The inode limit alone is eating you alive. )

oops: 0000 [#1] SMP

The answer is bimodal, voilà. I see the hosting forums: 1 or 2 sites, or 20+ like the pack rats. No middle. Horrible for the server, all the cron jobs at same time, the cache plugins fighting.

I have 3 per account, elegant.

14 is too many 50 is crazy 1-2 is safe but boring 20+ is where the fun is I run 23 on CloudCone no problems yet neighbor performance is their problem

So I worked at a Host before, na yes. The gemütlich Setup with 1-2 Sites per Account uses maybe 200MB RAM peak. The Account with 25 Sites? So the ResourceUsage is not linear, it is exponential. All the WordPress Plugins doing external Requests, the cron.php every Minute, the Heartbeat API.

The Neighbor Degradation is real. We moved the 20+ Packers to separate Nodes, so the noisy ones only hurt each other. Na yes.
