In 2019 this community overwhelmingly chose VPS. The virtualization overhead was acceptable for the flexibility. Now in 2024-2025 I see a shift. Article 13 flashbacks made us fear platform dependency; GDPR Article 32 requires "ability to restore availability" which bare metal can satisfy with proper planning.

I pose the question again: same monthly spend, bare metal or VPS? What changed your mind?

This poll is going to be good. I am team VPS forever because migrate is more easy than bare metal.

But actually I tried bare metal one time on InterServer and that thing was fast. The "noisy neighbor" problem disappeared.

Article 13 was crazy times, I remember.
