One year ago I make a server up with fiberhost, their budget line, 15 dollars month for e3-1230 and 16gb ram. I want to share experience because I see many people ask if cheap dedicated is worth. Uptime is 99.2% by my monitoring, three outages total, two were planned maintenance they notify with 24 hours, one was network issue about 6 hours. Support tickets answer in 4 hours average, sometimes 12 hours. They replace failed disk in 2 days. For price I think is acceptable. I run pihole, nextcloud, few small websites. Regards

99.2% thats almost four DAYS down per year not great not terrible I pay double for Hetzner and get 99.9% but for 15 bucks hmmm ALL CAPS YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR still good data point though

Dont trust any uptime number the provider gives you. Dont trust your own monitoring either, the only truth is the silence when your site doesnt load. I had a budget box once, it was a ghost that haunted me. Every ping was a prayer, every timeout was a little death. Fiberhost sounds like a dream or a lie, probably both &

The price is attractive, yes, but hosting is not only about hardware. I am with RackNerd for three years now, and the support is the difference. When my RAID degraded at 3am, they answer in 15 minutes. For 15 dollars, you have no human at 3am, only the ticket system. The CEO can post here all the roadmaps he wants, but money does not grow on trees, and neither do good engineers at midnight.
