Moved 40 sites from cPanel to Hestia last month and wanted to share what actually broke in practice IMO the docs are optimistic YMMV

The ssl redirect chains were the big surprise cPanel handled www to non-www to https in one hop but hestia gave me two sites with certificate mismatch errors because the first redirect hit http before the cert loaded had to manually edit nginx configs for three legacy domains

DNS TTL burned me harder than expected had a client with 86400 second ttl on their apex record took a full day for the hestia nameservers to propagate and their email was bouncing to the old ip during the gap

The embarrassing one site 37 of 40 I completely forgot to migrate MX records client uses InterServer for email not host email they didnt notice for 11 days because their mail volume is seasonal and I only caught it when they casually mentioned not getting supplier invoices take it

Regards @quinnbizz this is very useful for me I will make a server up with hestia next week

I have question about DNS TTL you can lower this before migration or is dangerous¿ I never understand this part well
