Mini-guide: what to screenshot before you cancel a host

Hey folks 👍

After three "I got billed after canceling" threads this month, here's a quick checklist of what to screenshot before you hit that cancel button.

  • First: the cancellation confirmation page itself, with timestamp.
  • Second: any support ticket where they acknowledge your request.
  • Third: your payment methods page showing no active subscriptions.
  • Fourth: the TOS section about refund policy, in case they change it later.

Save these somewhere you'll remember. Cloud, local, whatever works for you.

If a host tries to bill you after a clean cancellation, that evidence is your dispute ammunition. I've seen chargebacks won and lost over a single missing screenshot.

Stay safe out there.

Don't forget reverse DNS and glue records. Prices only go up, but your /24 will cost you a kidney if you lose the delegation trail. Screenshot your rDNS zone, WHOIS for your ARIN handle, any LOA on file. IP market's brutal right now.

/24 for sale. No lowballs.
