Mini-guide: using storage VPS as cold archive with glacier-like access policies

I dont have no experience with the glacier stuff but I made actually a test with s3fs on Contabo storage box. Not bad, not good. Double negative means I am unsure, yes? The access policy is actually just a cron job that chmods files. Very professional.

Break-even at 2 years? Actually I dont believe no one waits so long. But numbers are numbers.

Break-even vs real glacier: WHO CARES AT THIS PRICE.

The guide is nice but the s3fs is slow like the snail. I tried on the OVHcloud box, the latency when accessing cold files is. How you say... painful. The ost has bad disk sometimes. Is not true glacier, is fake glacier. Bisous to the idea.

But the price! $18/year. For the price I accept the slowness. The cron job for lifecycle: I use `at` command instead, more flexible. The French way. Mixing English and French because the brain is tired.
