Reading between lines of 'unlimited' I scraped fair use clauses from 8 hosts and cross-referenced actual suspension events from public complaints, status page anomalies, and one leaked support ticket.

  • Contabo "unlimited bandwidth" — soft cap 2TB, hard cap 4TB. No warning email. : 23 suspensions at 3.7TB average.
  • OVHcloud "unlimited domains" — CPU throttled to 10% after 5 addon domains. "Unlimited" refers to DNS records, not hosting.
  • Vultr "unlimited storage" — inode limit 250,000. 50,000 files = "unlimited" if each is 5GB. Suspension at inode cap, not byte cap.
  • Hetzner "unlimited email" — 500 emails/hour limit. Marketing "unlimited mailboxes," not sends.
  • Hostinger "unlimited databases" — 1GB max per MySQL instance. Unlimited count of unusable databases.
  • KnownHost "unlimited everything" — I think their ToS has something about termination for resource abuse with no numeric threshold. Widest discretion.
  • CloudCone "unlimited SSL" — Let's Encrypt only. Custom certs $15/install. "Unlimited" means auto-renewal count.
  • Time4VPS "unlimited support" — 48-hour response SLA for "unlimited" tickets. Unlimited waiting.

Route via Hetzner's anycast adds 12ms vs their "premium" tier. Same ASN. The graphs don't lie but their headers do — https://status.hetzner.com.
