Man, I going to say it: managed WordPress is just cPanel with a bow on it, dude. You paying 40/month for what? One-click updates? Softaculous do that since 2008. I see this "managed" label and is just fear marketing for people who scared of phpMyAdmin. Haha.

My friend he going to pay InterServer 60 bucks for "security monitoring" and they just install Wordfence. Man, I can do that in 5 minutes. But I want to hear from the other side—who here actually runs managed and why? Convince me I wrong, man. Haha.

My VPS crashed at 3am and I don't have time for that crap! Managed host fixed it while I slept, they're faster than me on coffee.

My time is worth money, damn! You think 40 is bad? My downtime cost me 400. It's not fear, it's math. Kkkkkkk

@CarlosBilby actually your math it makes sense but basically for me, learning server stuff is the point (´・ω・｀) I going to break things, fix things, break again managed would steal my fun@Prague too brutal, too true

I tried managed hosting with Contabo back in 2023 and here is the full story I had just eaten a bagel with cream cheese and my cat Mr. whiskers was sitting on the desk staring at the fan and it was raining outside which I remember because I had to close the window and the server was down for like six hours and I thought well maybe managed will help but then I realized I didnt even know what they were doing back there and I felt stupid paying for mystery box technology so I switched to DIY with OVHcloud and learned so much about nginx that I fixed my own problem at 2am while eating cold pizza and Mr whiskers judged me the whole time but I felt accomplished and now I think for business yes managed makes sense but for learning no way you need to get your hands dirty and make the mistakes and I am glad I did because now I actually understand what a reverse proxy does which I didnt before and that is my whole opinion
