I am done with someoneelses infrastructure holding my DNS hostage during transfers. Last month I moved from Leaseweb to HostHatch and my NS records got wiped[1] mid-migration. Their "uninterrupted service" promise meant "uninterrupted if you pay us for another year." I want a registrar that does not ransom my glue records. Requirements are simple:

  • Transfer out without NS reset
  • No forced DNS hosting as condition of registration
  • API access to modify child NS before auth code generation

I will pay Premium prices for actual Premium behavior. Who delivers this or do I self-host the whole stack?

[1] Their support claimed this was Registry policy not their choice. I checked. It was not.
