Hosts that price match after purchase
I asked about this after seeing a promo pop up right after I bought a server, and support basically told me no way.
- Hetzner does not offer retroactive price matching for promotional periods beginning after contract execution
- All promotional rates are bound to the signup timestamp recorded in their billing system
- Their Terms of Service Section 14.3 explicitly states that pricing is fixed at the moment of purchase
Kind of annoying when you watch a deal drop the week after you commit. I get why they do it, but still stings.
I know some people have had luck making noise on social media with other hosts. Never tried that myself.
Anyone actually gotten Hetzner to budge on this?
