Got spare capacity on a decommissioned node. 4 cores, 8GB, 200GB NVMe. Not much but idle costs me nothing since the rack is already warm.

Want to donate to something actually useful. No crypto, no forums, no game servers. What runs lean and benefits from stable infra?
I've got a similar setup—old E5-2680v2, 64GB, sitting at 45W idle. Hosted a Libre translate instance for 8 months before they outgrew it. For that money you get warm fuzzies and occasional thank-you emails. Translation projects are actually decent: low burst, predictable storage, and they don't pipe 10Gbps like video mirrors. My pallet of R630s from last auction has two more donors if this scales.

- published security policy
- no cryptocurrency affiliation
- documented resource utilization
Suggested approach:
- post on translation-focused mailing lists
- specify commit to 12-month minimum
- require monthly utilization reports
