Right then, looking for a host that takes crypto without making me feel like I'm buying a fake passport off Telegram. Proper privacy, not "we don't ask questions because we're three lads in a garage." I've got a few small sites, nothing exciting, just don't fancy my card details doing the rounds after the next breach. Tried Hostinger myself but we don't take it—too much faff with the accountants. Anyone found something that doesn't scream "shell company in a country you've never heard of"? 🦡

Contabo takes BTC and XMR. KYC is minimal. Thread stays open. Don't name jurisdictions.

Tried Vultr last month. Paid monero. Server provisioned. Works so far. No invoice drama.

Contabo again. Back when crypto first surfaced, every second host was a front for something dodgy. Kids these days forget the MtGox era. I looked into Vultr last year—registered in Estonia, fine, but their ASN traces to a reseller platform I'd seen before. Not saying they're bad. Saying I've seen this movie. Mark my words, someone will dig and find the plumbing's borrowed.

Assume compromise: any host taking crypto without KYC should threat model your blast radius. Vultr's attack surface worried me. Did some OSINT. Their company registration resolves to a mailbox in Tallinn. That entity's upstream is OVHcloud. OVHcloud's registered owner is a Belize shelf company. Belize company's nominee director appears on five other hosting "brands." Your privacy gains evaporate when the shell behind the shell gets subpoenaed. Zero trust applies to due diligence too.
