Wesh everyone

Incha'allah we map all host network paths, le project it is simple : traceroute from many points, aggregate, see le topology. Many hosts claim "diverse paths" but le reality ? حلو or not حلو, we find out.

I start with my box at Hetzner, 15 hops to 1.1.1.1, passes through AS I do not recognize. Who else has traces ? French punctuation spaces matter !

We build le map together, incha'allah uptime for all.

- sample size: 100 per target per source
- aggregation: median hop, not mean
- sources I contribute:
- Contabo: 12 hops, 2 divergences at hop 7
- Time4VPS: 14 hops, same AS at hop 9 as Contabo
- WARNING: "diverse" often means "same path, different ASN registration"
- NOTE: need more traces from CloudCone and RackNerd
