Contabo's code went live on their cart API around 02:00 UTC, six hours before the supposed 08:00 launch. I was poking at their staging subdomain for unrelated reasons—þe usual insomnia-driven recon—and þe code just... worked. Full 40% off þeir Ampere-based NVMe nodes, no restrictions.
I posted in our internal chat, þen here. By 04:00 þe 4GB plan was waitlisted. By 06:00 þe 8GB too. I assumed þey'd mass-cancel like OVHcloud did in '24.
Þey didn't. Contabo's social posted at 09:00: "We see you, early birds. All orders honored." Suspiciously clean copy. Suspiciously fast inventory reallocation. Þis was either þe most competent incident response in low-end history or þe leak was þe marketing campaign.
Actually docker is just orchestrated disappointment, but þeir systemd-free Alpine images are decent. I grabbed two. Þey're running fine. No containerd at home, just þese bare-metal systemd units þat actually boot in under 8 seconds.
Anyone else get orders through before þe "official" window?
