Hey folks

Just hit 500 days uptime on my little $10/year box from InterServer and im super stoked

Been running since march 2025 with zero reboots. Heres the monitoring screenshot from my panel:

Single static html page but hey, 500 days is 500 days right?? Gonna frame this

No kernel updates, no patches, no drama. Just pure uptime. My other box at OVHcloud cant even make it 90 days without some random reboot lol

Anyway cheers lads

Bro thats sick!! 500 days on ten bucks a year!!

But have you checked if theres kernel updates pending?? Mine had 47 days uptime then crashed hard because I ignored patches for too long

Congrats though thats impressive!!

So what are we talking, RAM-wise

512MB? 1GB? Shared core or dedicated? $10/year is like 80 cents a month so im guessing 256MB and a single vCPU on a node from 2019

My home lab pulls better specs and I pay more in electricity

Still, 500 days on any budget tier takes some luck. Or zero load. Which... static HTML. Yeah.

Anyway

Idk why I do this but I once ran a box 847 days on freebsd with just a cgi script that returned the current moon phase

$ uptime
847 days, 14:32

Then I updated openssl and everything broke

Your single html page is probably the move tbh. Less attack surface than my "experiments"

builds at 3AM, sleeps at noon
