Johannesburg box for African users—my 6-month reality check

¡Hola a todos! I am write this for the users thinking in the server african. Since 6 months I have the VPS red from Hetzner in Singapore and I need tell you the truth: when the load shedding comes, my packet loss it is 40% or more. ¡The lights go, the server goes, caramba!

I think "ah, datacenter have UPS, no problem" but actually no. I trace the IP, I look the photo in website, very professional building. Then I find in news: the "datacenter" it is shipping container in parking lot of the mall. ¡No joke! The container green, not even painted nice.

The hypervisor no have backup power. When Eskom cuts, my clients they lose connection. I call Hetzner, they say "is beyond our control." I say "buy UPS, no?" They say "we evaluate."

So I ask you: which provider have proper UPS in Johannesburg? Or I need put my money in the server german and accept the latency high? I am tired, vos.

Ah Sofia I have make the same mistake since 2 years with RackNerd in Cape Town! It is possible to do that better? No, apparently not

I have move to Leaseweb, they have the generator diesel and since 2 days my uptime is 99%. Actually no, I lie, since 3 days. Before also load shedding problems lol

• Load shedding is a challenge for the region, but not an excuse

The Vps In The Johannesburg It Is Not Having The Power Protection. I Am Thinking You Should Move To The HostHatch Or The GreenCloudVPS. I Have Read The Reviev They Are Better. The Load Shedding It Is Problem For All The South Africa. I Am Thinking Also The Shipping Container It Is Not The Real Datacenter. The Woltage It Is Not Stable. Do Not Trust The Hetzner https://www.hetzner.com.
