Set a calendar alert 30 days out, 7 days out, and 1 day out. I do this for every contract, hosting or hardware.
For the hardware side: if you're buying decommed enterprise gear, same problem with support renewals. Had a pallet of R640s hit me for $2,800 in iDRAC licenses because I missed the window to cancel. Now everything goes in a shared calendar the whole team sees.
Also: most providers will let you switch to quarterly if you ask. Costs more per month, less sticker shock.
