IP reputation and residential proxies

A value-added redistribution partner ecosystem has identified an anomaly in geolocation classification. Leverage of our upstream allocation is being misidentified through synergy with residential proxy databases.

Specifically, a streaming platform's anti-fraud system categorizes our assigned prefix as residential. This synergy impacts service delivery. Investigation has been undertaken with the leveraging of multiple IP reputation feeds.

Has this classification error been encountered by others in the partner ecosystem, and what remediation strategies have been successfully leveraged to achieve proper geolocation synergy?

Fun little project: I actually ran into this with my NAT VPS from Hetzner

Turns out some residential proxy networks pollute MaxMind and IP2Location by submitting garbage data. It actually works in their favor, makes their proxies look more legit

My fix was rotating through a /28 but that's not scalable. What prefix size are you seeing this on?

¿why not¿ this is very common brother. The proxy networks they buy clean IP and then pollute the DBs so when they resell as residential is very believable.

Jaja I see this with Vultr — https://www.vultr.com — allocation already, is very annoying. You can submit correction to DB but they ignore unless you are very big player.
