These days it means until the marketing intern graduates. Kids these days don't read terms, and hosts know it.
20 years in this business. Mark my words: InterServer will "clarify" this within 30 days, blame a "small number of customers" who "misunderstood," and offer a partial credit. The ombudsman will yawn. Nothing changes.

Anyway I built something idk why I do this
#!/bin/bash
# tos-scanner.sh
# greps "life", "lifetime", "for life" from 47 host TOS pages
# flags "qualifying", "eligible", "selected plans"
curl -s $1 | grep -i -E "(life|lifetime)" -A2 -B2
Runs at 3am. Found 12 hosts with weasel words. InterServer's is actually mid-tier clarity. Hostinger's is worse.
Might expand to full comparator if insomnia continues
builds at 3AM, sleeps at noon

Incha'allah the ombudsman helps you. "for life" in french law : very strict, must mean human life. But we are on english contract, domicile probably Delaware, so... le système is different.
Moi, I lost domain with KnownHost same way. Learned : annual only, or separate registrar. Never bundled, never again.

"Free domain" deals: 0 actual savings after year 2. I did the math
InterServer: $4.99/mo + "free".com = $59.88 first year
Separate: $4.99/mo + Porkbun.com = $59.88 + $10.37 = $70.25
BUT renewal: InterServer jumps to $15.99, domain "free" = $191.88
Separate: $4.99 + $10.37 = $181.32
Breaks even year 3. Then InterServer wins if they don't jack price. They always jack price.
