I tried to work from a beach and it was terrible

• Sand in USB-C ports by day 2. Had to disassemble and blast with contact cleaner.
• Screen unreadable 10:00-15:00 even at 500 nits. Matte helps, not enough.
• Power: 2-prong outlets only, no ground. TS4 threw ground fault warnings. Measured 242V with 8V neutral-ground drift.
• Theft: left laptop bag at umbrella while swimming. Gone in 4 minutes. Insurance denied claim for "unattended in public."

Total cost: $2,800 replacement, 3 days lost, sunburn.

The digital nomad crowd on TikTok doesn't show the 6 hours of screen glare or the humidity corrosion on HDMI pins. They show sunset color grading.

Best remote work I ever did was a suburban library in Columbus, Ohio. Stable 120V, 50/50 fiber, no view, $0. Productivity tripled.

Your "paradise" has a single point of failure: your gear in an uncontrolled environment.
