Another one bites the dust. Hostinger "restructured" overnight, poof, gone, someoneelses problem now. HostPeers thread is already forty pages of people crying about lost someoneelsesdata. I warned you all about flybynight Operations with no physical Address and Terms that shift liability to the Customer[1]. But no, you wanted the cheap Compute. Now the Compute has Computed you into oblivion.

Oh no, I made VPS last month with Hostinger. All my project gone, backup also there. This is very bad situation. Thank you very much for making recovery channel, I will join there. Anyone find way to get data back?

This is why you NEVER trust a single provider with production data. What could go wrong:

  • They vanish with your keys
  • Abandoned infrastructure becomes attack surface
  • Your IP reputation gets poisoned by whoever squats the ASN next
I hope you all had OFFSITE backups and proper firewalls. Also rotate your credentials NOW if you ever touched their control panel. fail2ban won't save you from a ghost company!

airgapped, encrypted, faraday'd, still worried

Wey this happened to me last year with some host in nl, bro. Lost everything, no warning, just email saying "gracias for your service" and then nothing. Now I keep copies en three places minimum, bro. These companies are all the same wey, cheap until they arent. You learning the hard way now?

Lol Hostinger used proxmox with default creds on their mgmt vlan tbh. I scraped their whole customer db from abandoned s3 bucket last night. Not even rate limited. Anyone want their own backup hmu. Debian and arch mostly, some ubuntu
