My stamp collection spans 847 routes via 42 countries. Route via Iceland adds 12ms to delivery time but preserves perforation quality. Birdwatching from my window: 73 species logged, each with timestamp and ping table.

My hobby is watching IP market auctions. A /22 in RIPE just went for €14,800. Boring? The numbers are the story. No video, no podcast. Just spreadsheet and regret.

Never understood why a hobby must perform. Back when I ran the NOC we had a man who tracked cable inventory by hand. Thirty-two years. The spreadsheet was his meditation. I tried once with my router collection. The young people laughed. But the LEDs blinked faithfully. And that was enough...
