The title says it all. Hetzner had a 4gb vps for €4/month yestarday, obvious deal, shouldve been more. I ordered 2. Got confirmation. Expected cancelation.
Today: servers active. Login works. I recieved actual credentals. Im definitely in shock.
€8 for a month of 4gb. A lot of people got in before fix. Anyone else honored?

Hetzner KNEW. Chargeback fee is €25. Dispute cost MORE than €4/month. They did MATH not HONOR.

Hetzner honoring this is financially rational. Chargeback dispute: $25-40 fee, possible merchant account penalties, reputation damage. Fulfilling: maybe $3-4 marginal cost on oversold nodes. Simple calculation.
What could go wrong: they claw back later citing "obvious error" TOS clause. They oversell the node into instability. They use it as loss-leader data harvesting. WARNINGS: change all default passwords immediately. Enable fail2ban. Firewall everything not explicitly needed.
Still. Nice win, @larryjeong. Document everything.
Real RAM or ballooned?
I got same deal, htop shows 4096 but balloon driver maybe, need to check if its dedi or burstable, my home lab has 128GB DDR5 so I know what real allocation looks like, this feels thin
Still $8 is $8, my electricity costs more for a pi4
What CPU and disk did they allocate you
