Honest review of RackNerd, six months in. I will divide this into two sections.

Hardware:

  • Ampere Altra Max, 128 cores, flawless
  • NVMe consistent at 3.2GB/s sustained reads
  • Network: actual 10Gbps, not "up to"

Humans:

  • Ticket response: 36 hours average
  • Billing dispute: escalated three times, no resolution
  • TOS section 14.3 invoked against me for requesting SLA credit

I am conflicted. The machine runs circles around my CloudCone box at twice the price. But the support experience violates their own published SLA response times. I have documented everything.

The ampere chips are insane value! What model exactly? I got a cpx51 from somewhere else and it runs circles around xeon gold for my workload.

36 hours is rough though. My RackNerd ticket last month was 4 hours, but maybe I got lucky. What region?
