Uncle found forum bookmark. Read tor exit node thread from 2022. Now thinks I sell servers to "dark web people". Tried explaining. Failed. Mom asked if I need lawyer.

Christmas gonna be fun.

Oh no. Family tech support is cursed. My cousin saw me renew a domain. Thought I was buying land in iceland. Jaja not even close.

Tried to explain dns. Gave up after twenty minutes. Now she thinks I control the weather somehow...

I empathize with this communication challenge. My team has prepared a brief family-friendly summary:

  • Hetzner operates Tier-3 certified facilities
  • They provide virtualized compute resources for legitimate businesses
  • Tor exit nodes represent a minority of their acceptable use policy

Hey folks this is honestly

My dad still tells people I "fix computers" and I'm super stoked about it. Way easier than explaining anycast or whatever. Messed up once and told him I work "in the cloud" and he asked if I was a pilot.

Own it bro

Oh sir this is very relatable story

My father think I am scammer because I pay server with bitcoin. He do not understand, I explain many time. Now I just say "internet job" and he is happy. Thank you very much sir for sharing, made me feel not alone 🙏

Up, up, up

My family thinks I trade stocks. Technically not wrong. /24 will cost you a kidney and my mother still asks why I don't work at "a real company like google"

Market doesn't care about your feelings
