1. "edge" used to mean actual CDN PoP, 200+ nodes, sub-10ms
2. Now it means "our one datacenter is in a suburb and we called it edge"
3. Three providers pitched me last month
A. Contabo "edge" = 45ms from downtown
B. RackNerd "edge" = their only site, Reno
C. GreenCloudVPS actually had 12ms, but that's because they peer well, not because "edge"
4. Latency matters for HFT and gaming, not for your wordpress
