Please hear me out. cPanel sent email about new pricing for account tiers. I crunched numbers on server and if I read correct, my cost go from ~$15 to over $400 per month??? Help. I run small host for friend projects, maybe 50 cPanel account total. This destroy me.

I attach screenshot of pricing table. Someone tell me I am wrong. Please.

Seriously though, 50 accounts on what hardware? I'm running 200+ on dual xeon with 512gb and my cPanel license is a rounding error. If you're panicking over $400 you need to either scale up or get out of the reseller game.

My nodes at OVHcloud: 768gb, nvme raid, actual 10gig. Cost more than your car probably. Budget hosting is a trap.

I saw same email and FREAKED. Ran numbers for my InterServer nodes, was about to email everyone "we migrating sorry"

Then I re-read. The $400 thing is for PREMIUM tier with enhanced backups and priority support. Standard tier is like $45 for 100 accounts

I was wrong. Super stoked I caught it before I sent that email lmao. Always read twice folks

As far as I know, the pricing structure contains three distinct tiers. The announcement states that the entry tier covers fifty accounts at approximately forty-five dollars, with overages per additional account. The confusion in this thread appears to stem from comparing the premium tier pricing against standard usage. This is a common pattern in SaaS announcements, where the highest visible price anchors perception. Regarding GDPR implications, any migration triggered by cost would require updated data processing agreements with affected users. I do not see this angle discussed yet.

Bro I did same miscalculation.

I saw €400 and almost deleted my Contabo server

Turns out I was looking at ENTERPRISE tier for 500+ accounts. My 30 accounts cost like $35 now.

Still too much. CPanel always raising prices. Time to switch to directadmin maybe!
