Contabo New York: network quality for US East Coast?

Guys been looking at New York for east coast clients. Contabo has a deal, €4/mo 1GB — https://contabo.com/en/vps/. Closer to Boston than New York right? Any leads on their network quality. Need to know if I can squeeze margin with a panel install

Contabo New York vs Hetzner Ashburn same price tier:

  • Contabo: 892 down / 743 up
  • Hetzner: 1.1G down / 940M up
  • OVHcloud NYC: 1.4G both ways

CIRA's whois privacy rules are stricter than ICANN. If you're reselling to EU clients you now have two compliance layers, GDPR plus CIRA's version of article 13-style takedown procedures. Not insurmountable but document everything. Earnest advice: read the CIRA dispute resolution policy before you put customer data there.

 3  nyc-ix.Contabo.net (8.7ms)

Route via NYC adds 3ms. Direct would be 5-6ms. Contabo peers at NYC-IX but backhauls through NYC first, so your "closer than Ashburn" depends on whether Hetzner routes via Ashburn or not. Their Ashburn node routes via Ashburn, adds 12ms from Boston.

Actual geoblock result: CTV app blocks Contabo's /24. Customer complaint already.
