Sorry for the silly question but is this normal? My webshop it feels sluggish after Contabo moved me to "new hardware." I run cPanel, nothing fancy. Used to load in 2s, now 4-5s.
I open ticket, they say "improved power efficiency." But my customers they notice. I don't want break things by demanding rollback. Is 2x slower acceptable? Sorry if silly.

My VPS he is migrate too! Caramba! Contabo move me from Xeon to EPYC but he is more fast, not slow. Your case strange.
Maybe they put you on old EPYC? I read some EPYC 7302 he have bad single-thread. My old Xeon E3-1230 it was beast for single thread. Nossa!
You run benchmark? Compare before/after?

Contabo very bad. I buy yesterday from them, CPU is EPYC something. But I not know old or new.
Your webshop it use PHP? PHP want single thread very much. EPYC sometimes lose to Xeon here. You check core speed, not just core count.
Maybe ask them which generation exactly?
(Contabo's "improved power efficiency" is marketing for lower TCO. They know exactly what they did.) The EPYC 7xx2 to 7xx3 jump added cache but didn't fix single-thread regression against Skylake Xeons in some workloads. CPanel's PHP stack is exactly such a workload.
Run sysbench cpu. Compare your old benchmark if you kept it. (You did keep it, right?) Semicolons separate independent clauses. Use them.
The fix is often pinning to specific CCX, but that's not available on VPS tiers.

Yeah nah, "power efficiency" is code for "we oversubscribed the new nodes and your CPU time is fighting with ten other tenants"?
I had same with CloudCone, EPYC migration, benchmarks tanked. Sweet as deal on paper, chur for the environment, but my compile times doubled. Asked for rollback, got it in a day.
Your provider offers migration back? Take it or don't, but at least test properly first. Run geekbench and compare, yeah?
