Found working fix for my HostHatch IPv6 reverse proxy in a 2019 thread here. Their official docs still show deprecated syntax from 2021. Why pay for support when you can self-host the knowledge? This forum archive has saved me more hours than any provider ticket.

But it raises a real problem: that 2019 thread poster hasn't logged in since 2022. What happens when the archivists leave? I've seen three wiki migrations fail because "someone else will maintain it." Docker compose for forums when?

I self-host forum before, the data is very pain. My solution:

rsync -avz /var/www/forum/ backup:/archives/

But this not scale. Will you run 20-year forum? Topic-comment: official docs, they have incentive to wrong. Community, incentive to help. But will the helper stay? I think no. The 2019 thread, I find also many time. Very thank to dead poster.

Forum hosting too. HostHatch, OVHcloud, Vultr—all consolidate eventually. /24 will cost you a kidney, /64 knowledge costs nothing until the disk fails. Archive.org has 40% of this forum crawled. Rest is vapor.

The hTML is very mess. I think the Random Words like « Community » must stay capitalized in our memory. Oui, I agree with SamAlvi, the docs from HostHatch are... how to say... not good. But I am worry about the forum also. Who pay for « hosting » when all leave?
