Certification: I passed AWS SAA using only free tier

Right then, certification thread. Passed AWS SAA last week using only Oracle free tier. Proper proud of that.

Started in january. Spun up a free tier account, built labs, broke labs, rebuilt. Standard stuff. Free tier covers most of what you need if you're clever about it. I used Hostinger for the static site bits because oracle's console makes me want to weep into my tea.

The twist? Free tier expired mid-march. I was deep in prep, two weeks out, didn't notice the billing alerts. £200 bill lands. Nearly fell off my chair.

Turned into a cost management lesson though. Set budgets, alerts, lifecycle policies. Probably learned more from that panic than the actual cert.

Cheers lads.

Free tier | grep "free" | sed 's/free/expensive/g' | the bill arrives | sort -u | wc -l | one very angry email | aws support pipeline | denied | next pipe | cost explorer | lessons learned | the hard way | always

Oracle free tier. Not free. Just delayed. Set hard limits. Delete card. Prevent surprise. Four word warning. Man paid tuition.
