Automation win: I haven't logged into my server in 200 days

200 days since last ssh. Everything runs through ansible and cron. Updates, backups, cert renewals. Simple is better.

Today I needed to check something and realized I forgot root password. Key auth only, but console requires it. Now I am locked out of my own machine.

The automation worked too well

rm -rf / --no-preserve-root ☯

Obviously this is what we all aspire to, to be locked out of our own infrastructure. Clearly the pinnacle of devops. /s

Or you could have written the password down, how do you say, anywhere at all. But that would be too simple, obviously.
