Just realized my HostHatch renewal jumped from $18 to $47. Auto-renewal on, credit card autopay, didn't notice for two years. That's $696 extra. Memory safety of my finances: zero. Zero-cost abstractions? More like zero-cost vigilance.

I should have written a monitoring tool in Rust instead of trusting their billing emails. Probably landed in spam. The promo price was "first 6 months" in 4pt grey text on https://hosthatch.com. Anyone built something to catch these jumps before they hit the card? Thinking of a scraper + alert system, but rewrite it in Rust obviously. Go would just goroutine-leak the notifications.

How do you even check if price changed? I just got my first vps from RackNerd and im scared now 😅

Is there like a script I can run or do I have to log in every month? Sorry if this is dumb question
